In August 2025, Core & Saw successfully completed a major concrete cutting and demolition project at the Costco store in Colorado Springs, CO. Starting in March 2025, our scope of work included slab cutting and removal, wall sawing, core drilling, selective demolition, and concrete pourback to restore the slab after modifications.
Scope of Work
- Interior Slab Cutting & Removal
We cut and removed a 9″ thick reinforced concrete slab with no overcutting, ensuring clean edges and structural safety. For this, we used the Core Cut Diamond Products CC3700E electric walk-behind saw, ideal for precise indoor work with zero emissions. - Exterior Slab Cutting
Outside, our team performed heavy-duty pavement and slab cuts with the Husqvarna FS5000D diesel saw. Its power and cutting depth allowed us to complete exterior work efficiently and accurately. - Wall Sawing in CMU Wall
A new opening in a CMU wall was created using the Hilti wall saw. This track-mounted system ensured a perfectly straight and clean cut, preparing the space for new structural elements. - Concrete Removal & Demolition
Our crew managed safe slab removal, debris hauling, and selective demolition, leaving the site ready for the next construction phase. - Concrete Pourback
After cutting and demolition, we completed a concrete pourback to restore the slab. This step involved placing and finishing new concrete where the openings and slab sections had been removed, ensuring a durable and seamless surface for long-term performance.
